Refrigerator Recycling Rebates

Refrigerators run constantly and typically consume more electricity each year than any other appliance in your breakroom. If your refrigerator was made before 1993, it’s not very energy-efficient. In fact it cost about $100 a year to operate according to government estimates. By turning in your old refrigerator to be recycled and replacing it with a new, energy-efficient ENERGY STAR® model, you can reduce the use of electricity and save on your monthly electric bills. Plus you can receive a rebate in cold cash.

Rebates:

- $35 Rebate toward the recycling of a working pre-1993 refrigerator

- $40 Rebate toward the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR refrigerator

$75 Rebate toward the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR refrigerator plus recycling of one working refrigerator

$110 Rebate toward the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR refrigerator and recycling of two working refrigerators**

**At least one must be a pre -1993 model
