Refrigerator Recycling Rebates:
A Cool Way to Save at Home
Refrigerators run constantly and typically consume more electricity each year than any other appliance in your kitchen. If your refrigerator was made before 1993, it’s not very energy-efficient. In fact it costs about $100 a year to operate according to government estimates. By turning in your old refrigerator to be recycled and replacing it with a new, energy-efficient ENERGY STAR® model, you can reduce the use of electricity and save on your monthly electric bills. Plus you can receive a rebate in cold cash.
Rebates:

$35 Rebate toward the recycling of a working pre-1993 refrigerator

$40 Rebate toward the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR refrigerator

$75 Rebate toward the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR refrigerator plus recycling of one working refrigerator

$110 Rebate toward the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR refrigerator and recycling of two working refrigerators**
**At least one must be a pre -1993 model

Easy Pick-up.
Santee Cooper will be responsible for picking up your old refrigerator and recycling it for FREE! Ask your appliance retailer for program details. Rebates are available only to Santee Cooper customers. May be combined with other offers. Current offer good through November 15, 2012. Santee Cooper is not responsible for picking up or recycling any non-working refrigerator.
