Commercial Prescriptive Rebate Program
Official Terms and Conditions

Santee Cooper is implementing the Commercial Prescriptive Rebate Program to provide customers with rebates to facilitate the installation of qualifying energy efficient measures. The following terms and conditions apply to the program:

  1. To qualify for rebates through the Commercial Prescriptive Rebate Program, the participant must:
    1. Be a current Santee Cooper retail electric customer receiving service under one of the rate schedules listed in the Program Manual
    2. Purchase and install qualifying measures as specified in the Equipment Catalog
    3. Submit a completed Rebate Application, a dated copy of the paid invoice or receipt, and any other documentation specified in the Equipment Catalog
    4. Abide by the program rules, eligibility requirements, and any other requirements in effect at the date of measure installation

  2. By participating in Santee Cooper’s Commercial Prescriptive Rebate Program, participant must abide by these terms and conditions, as well as any specific terms and conditions in applicable Prescriptive Rebate Program forms and catalogs.

  3. Santee Cooper retains the right to make final determination of customer eligibility.
    Qualifying measures are eligible for rebates if purchased and installed between September 1, 2012 and November 30, 2012, subject to rebate availability.

  4. Failure to provide any of the required information, including signatures, forms, or other requested documentation, will result in the return of the Rebate Application.

  5. One rebate check will be issued per approved Rebate Application as specified on the application.

  6. Qualifying measures as defined in the Commercial Prescriptive Rebate Equipment Catalog that receive rebates under this program may not receive purchase and installation rebates or credits under any other Santee Cooper program.

  7. Customers will be limited to $200,000 in rebates per facility for measures installed and Rebate Applications submitted between January 1, 2012 and November 30, 2012 under the Commercial Prescriptive Rebate Program. Customers will be limited to a combined overall rebate cap of $300,000 per facility from participation in all Commercial Rebate energy efficiency programs offered by Santee Cooper. For the purposes of Santee Cooper's energy efficiency programs, a customer facility is defined as one or several contiguous or adjacent buildings owned or operated by a single customer.

  8. Project rebates may not exceed 50% of the eligible project cost. Eligible project costs are based upon the actual costs incurred by the customer in connection with the evaluation, construction, installation, implementation, and commissioning of an eligible energy efficiency measure.

  9. Santee Cooper, at its sole discretion, may inspect the associated facility prior to or after approving the Rebate Reservation Request, Project Application, or Lighting Workbook to confirm facility or measure eligibility, or to verify appropriate measure installation. The inspection may include a telephone survey and/or site visit. Customers must allow Santee Cooper and its sub-contractors reasonable ingress and egress from the relevant facility during normal business hours for inspection purposes. Discrepancies from information listed on application or incorrect measure installation may delay or stop rebate payment.

  10. For Program quality control, Santee Cooper, at its sole discretion, may conduct site visits and/or telephone surveys to evaluate and/or monitor the rebated measures at any time up to two years after work is completed. Such visits may include the installation of temporary monitoring equipment. Customers must allow Santee Cooper and their sub-contractors reasonable ingress and egress from the associated facility during normal business hours for these evaluations and/or monitoring equipment installations.

  11. Santee Cooper makes no representations and provides no warranty or guaranty with respect to the design, manufacture, construction, safety, performance or effectiveness of the newly installed measures, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Responsibility for delivery and workmanship related to any measures or services the customer procures exclusively rests with the contractor or retailer selected by the customer. Santee Cooper assumes no responsibility for oversight of contractor services.

  12. Santee Cooper reserves the right to change or cancel this Rebate Program or its terms and conditions at any time.




Refrigerator Rebate Program
Official Terms and Conditions

  1. $35 rebate applicants- Rebate checks will be mailed to qualified customers within 10-12 weeks of the postmark date on the mailed request.

  2. $40 rebate applicants- Rebate checks will be mailed to qualified customers within 6 weeks of the postmark date on the mailed request.

  3. $75 and $110 rebate applicants- Qualified customers will receive $40 within 6 weeks of the postmark date on the mailed request. An additional check for the remaining amount will be sent to qualifying customers within 10-12 weeks from the date your old appliance is received at the recycling center.

  5. Your right to receive this rebate will not be earned unless you satisfy each of these conditions of acceptance. Your failure to satisfy each of these requirements is a rejection of this rebate offer and these promotional funds will no longer be available to you.

  6. Resolution of any disputes will be governed by South Carolina law. Purchases of products that are used, resale, rebuilt, rented, leased, exchanged, won as a prize, purchased at auction or existing products with new parts are not eligible. All qualifying refrigerator models are listed at www.ENERGYSTAR.gov.

  7. Santee Cooper does not allow product substitutions, deletions or additions regardless of information you learn from other sources.

  8. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer unless specified in writing by Santee Cooper. This offer is available to all eligible Santee Cooper customers with mailing addresses in the U.S.

  9. All rebate checks will be paid in U.S. dollars. Santee Cooper is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, misdirected or postage-due submissions.

  10. Your rights to this offer cannot be assigned or transferred and this offer is void where taxed, restricted or prohibited by law.

  11. Customer shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Santee Cooper, its directors, officers, agents, and employees against all claims, loss, damage, expense, and liability asserted or incurred by other parties, including but not limited to Santee Cooper's employees and Purchaser's employees, arising out of or in any way connected with the performance of the agreement and caused by the acts, omissions, intent or negligence, whether active or passive, or purchaser, its agents, employees, and suppliers, and excepting only such loss, damage, or liability as may be caused by the intentional act of the sole negligence of Santee Cooper.

  12. Disclaimer of Warranties: Santee Cooper makes no representations, expressed or implied, regarding the design, installation, construction, reliability, efficiency, performance, operation, maintenance, or use of any energy efficiency equipment or systems analyzed, discussed, selected, rejected, installed or otherwise considered by customer. Any decisions regarding the selection, design, installation, use and operation of any energy efficiency equipment shall be at the sole discretion and are the sole responsibility of the customer.

  13. Excessive submissions constitute fraud and may result in federal prosecution under the U.S. mail fraud statutes (Title 18, USC 1341 and 1342).

  14. All submitted rebate documents and materials become Santee Cooper property and will not be returned.

  15. All qualified recycled refrigerators shall become the property of Appliance Recycling Centers of America (d.b.a. ARCA), who shall be solely responsible for removal and disposal of the recycled refrigerators.





Smart Energy New Homes Program
Official Terms and Conditions

Santee Cooper's Smart Energy New Homes Program offers rebates to homebuilders and owner-builders who commit to constructing energy-efficient homes. Homebuilders accepted into the program will benefit from outreach activities that will raise awareness regarding energy-efficient homes. Homebuilders who construct homes to Santee Cooper specifications and per the ENERGY STAR® v2.5 or v3.0 guidelines for the performance path for qualification will have the opportunity to benefit from Santee Cooper's marketing activities.

  1. I understand that the rebates awarded are to assist in the defrayment of certification cost to the homebuilder, and that I will be responsible for the construction costs of achieving the guidelines of ENERGY STAR or Smart Energy New Homes.

  2. I understand that I am responsible for paying the HERS rating company for any fees associated with participating in the program.

  3. I understand that all homes must be completed prior to November 15, 2012 and must meet the performance specifications and home eligibility requirements outlined in the Program Overview in order to receive rebate(s) requested. These standards shall be verified during site inspections by a certified HERS rating company. Santee Cooper also reserves the right to conduct final inspections as part of Quality Control processing.

  4. I understand that my HERS rater must submit any requested documentation related to the home energy ratings for ENERGY STAR Qualified Homes and/or Smart Energy New Homes upon completion of the rater's verification.

  5. I understand that rebate payments are directly tied to a home's actual energy performance and any changes to the design or specifications of the home(s) that reduce a home's performance may result in a reduction or loss of rebate(s).

  6. I understand that the home(s) will earn the ENERGY STAR certification only after I submit a Partnership Agreement to the EPA, and the home(s) has been approved as earning the ENERGY STAR following onsite verification inspections performed by a certified HERS rating company.

  7. I understand that the inspections conducted by a HERS rating company or Santee Cooper Energy Advisor are solely for the purpose of determining if the home(s) will earn the ENERGY STAR or meet the performance requirements of Smart Energy New Home, and are not safety or building code inspections.

  8. I understand that the rebates associated with this Agreement will only be paid to the Applicant for homes that have a valid Santee Cooper meter base number.

  9. I understand that I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Santee Cooper and its agents, and employees against all loss, damage, expense, and liability, resulting from injury to, or death of persons; against all injury to property arising out of or in any way connected with the performance of this Agreement.

  10. I understand and agree to provide Santee Cooper with all and any proof of insurance required by Santee Cooper as a condition to participate in the Smart Energy New Homes Program.

  11. I understand that participation in the Smart Energy New Homes Program is voluntary. Santee Cooper has the right to change, modify, or terminate this program or my participation at any time.




Smart Energy Existing Homes Program
Official Terms and Conditions

Santee Cooper's Smart Energy Existing Homes Program ("Program") offers rebates for the installation of high efficiency equipment, improvements to equipment performance, and homes that achieve the Smart Energy Existing Home Standard.

  1. I understand that I will only receive the rebate if the equipment installed qualifies in accordance with the program standards.

  2. I understand that the rebate that I am awarded will help offset the cost to install the energy efficiency upgrades, and that I am responsible for paying the balance of the costs associated with such upgrades including, but not limited to, cost of materials and contractor fees.

  3. I understand that I am responsible for paying a contractor for any fees associated with installing the energy efficiency upgrades and Santee Cooper has no part in any agreement between me and the approved Santee Cooper Trade Ally I select to complete the work.

  4. I understand that the rebates associated with this Rebate Application will only be paid to a Santee Cooper residential customer (or their designated third party) that meets the eligibility requirements of the Smart Energy Existing Home Program.

  5. I understand that if I accept a rebates under the 2012 Smart Energy Existing Homes Program, my home will be ineligible for future rebates as outlined in the table below.



  6. I understand that participation in the Smart Energy Existing Homes Program is voluntary on behalf of Santee Cooper and the Applicant. Santee Cooper has the right to change or modify the program at any time.

  7. I will allow, if requested, a representative from Santee Cooper or any authorized third party reasonable access to my property to verify the installed product I have purchased before a rebate is paid. I understand that a rebate will not be paid if I refuse to participate in any required verification. The verification of installation must be scheduled within 30 days of customer contact by Santee Cooper. I understand that Santee Cooper may contact the qualifying product vendor and/or installer, if needed, to verify purchase and/or installation and may provide my name and/or address to complete this verification.

  8. I understand that I agree to indemnify Santee Cooper and its agents, and employees against all loss, damage, expense, and eligibility, resulting from injury to, or death of persons; against all injury to property arising out of or in any way connected with any measures installed.

  9. I understand that Santee Cooper makes no warranty regarding equipment performance or energy savings. I have read and understood the terms and conditions of this program. I certify that the information I have provided is true and correct and that the energy-efficiency improvements for rebate meet the requirements in this application.




2011-12 Commercial Custom Program
Official Terms and Conditions

Santee Cooper is implementing the Commercial Custom Rebate Program to provide customers with rebates to facilitate the installation of qualifying energy efficient measures. The following terms and conditions apply to the program:

  1. To qualify for rebates through the Commercial Custom Rebate Program, the participant must:
    1. Be a current Santee Cooper retail electric customer receiving service under one of the rate schedules listed in the Program Manual
    2. Submit a completed Rebate Application and any supplemental documentation that may be requested to verify energy efficiency measures.
    3. Purchase, install, and commission qualifying measures as specified in the Commercial Custom Rebate Program Manual and/or as instructed by Santee Cooper.
    4. Abide by the program rules, eligibility requirements, and rebate levels in effect at the date of measure installation.

  2. Santee Cooper retains the right to make final determination of customer eligibility, measure qualification and measure eligible costs.
    Approved, qualifying measures are eligible for rebates if purchased and installed between October 3, 2011 and November 30, 2012.

  3. Failure to provide any of the required information, including signatures, forms, or other requested documentation, will result in the return of the Rebate Application.

  4. Rebates requested by the Rebate Application may exceed the amount reserved by the Rebate Reservation Request only when funds remain in the program budget and no projects have been placed on a waitlist for program participation.

  5. One rebate check will be issued per approved Rebate Application as specified on the application.

  6. Final rebate amount cannot exceed the estimated rebate approved with the Rebate Application by more than 20%

  7. Qualifying measures as defined in the Program Manual receiving rebates under the Commercial Custom Rebate Program may not receive purchase and installation rebates or credits under any other Santee Cooper programs.

  8. Customers will be limited to $200,000 in rebates per facility, per calendar year for measures installed and submitted under the Commercial Custom Rebate Program. Customers will be limited to a combined overall rebate cap of $300,000 per facility, per calendar year from participation in all Commercial Rebate energy efficiency programs offered by Santee Cooper. For the purposes of Santee Cooper’s energy efficiency programs, a customer facility is defined as one or several contiguous or adjacent buildings owned or operated by a single customer.

  9. Measure rebates may not exceed 50% of the measure eligible cost. Measure eligible costs are described in detail in Section 2.3 of the Custom Program Manual and are based upon the actual costs above the cost of a code compliant measure and/or current industry practice incurred by the customer in connection with the evaluation, construction, installation, implementation, and commissioning of a qualifying energy efficiency measure.

  10. Santee Cooper, at its sole discretion, may inspect the associated facility prior to or after approving the Custom Rebate Reservation Request, Rebate Application, or Installation Notice to confirm facility or measure eligibility, or to verify appropriate measure installation. The inspection may include a telephone survey and/or site visit. Customers must allow Santee Cooper and its sub-contractors reasonable ingress and egress from the relevant facility during normal business hours for inspection purposes. Discrepancies from information listed on this application or incorrect measure installation may delay or stop rebate payment.

  11.
